ABOUT ROSALYN'S EMPORIUM

Hi, I'm Roz & I set up Rosalyn's Emporium in 2016 with the aim of sharing my love of craft skills, particularly making
precious jewellery.

An Art Foundation course in Brighton introduced me to basic metalworking techniques for the first time.
I then learnt how to make a silver ring during an evening course & was completely hooked.

In 1997 I started a degree in Designed Metalwork & Jewellery.
I graduated with a BA First-Class Honours 3 years later.

In 2001 I made my first pair of wedding rings
for my sister & brother-in-law.
The experience & privilege of making such special jewellery in precious metals was inspirational.
This opened the doors for more requests & years later I have
made many different wedding rings for family, friends & clients.

My favourite wedding ring commissions were always the ones when the couple saw their own wedding rings being made.
Seeing their faces change from doubt to amazement as the metal was hammered, soldered, filed, buffed & polished into a finished wedding ring was wonderful & never becomes boring.

Making jewellery was always a hobby until now & after university I pursued a career in visual merchandising. This satisfied my love of retail & window dressing whilst requiring a multitude of
creative disciplines as well as business acumen.

Following a 13 year role as a head office based Visual Merchandiser for a large high street jewellery & watch retailer I was made redundant. This gave me the opportunity to set up my own business & share my love for uniquely crafted items with other people.

I am a member of the Association for Contemporary Jewellery & have won a number of design awards from other jewellery bodies.
As well as my degree I am JET 1 qualified
(Jewellery Education & Training). I've completed a basic stone setting & wax carving course in order to update my skill set.

My husband & I have 2 young children
(oh, & a beast of a cat)!

My husband was very wise & suggested I design & make my rings myself which was the perfect proposal for a jeweller.

ROSALYN'S EMPORIUM LINKS

Rosalyn's Emporium believes in positive, collaborative marketing & aims to help other independent companies to prosper,
as well as my own business, via mutual recommendations.

Below are some wedding related venues & suppliers I would personally love to recommend to you.

Wedding Venues

Kings Chapel, Old Amersham;  is an historic venue hidden from view in Old Amersham.
The venue is linked to the Kings Arms Hotel & The Crown so delicious food, accommodation & entertainment is all within one location.

My first wedding fair in September 2016 was at Kings Chapel & proved to be a fantastic insight in to how my new business was going to be received. I'm really happy to be connected to this truly personal venue.

May 2017: I'm delighted to be offered a renewed preferred supplier contract for 2017/18 & look forward to a full year of working with this great team & meeting more lovely couples.

See my 2016 - 2017 preferred supplier feedback in the ENDORSEMENTS
Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, Quainton;  a unique vintage wedding venue perfect for train lovers of course, but equally unusual & fun for anyone looking for something a little different. You can arrive & leave via steam train on their private train track, not many couples can say they've done that on their wedding day!

I'm very pleased to be added to their wedding supplier list following a very enjoyable wedding fair there. Delicious food, well organised & a pleasure to work with.
Chiltern Open Air Museum, Wedding & Event Venue;  I'm very proud to be a preferred supplier for this unique venue.
Even if you aren't getting married this amazing outdoor experience is worth a visit. Historic, interactive buildings are ready to explore in a beautiful 45 acre site made up of countryside & hillside woodland. Craft demonstrations & seasonal events are planned to offer experiences for all ages. The venue is also used for film & photo shoots, some of which you may recognise.

Wedding Suppliers

Sophie's Chocolates; based in a quaint little shop in Chesham I discovered Sophie's delicious chocolates when we first moved to Chesham in 2006.  She makes wedding cakes, favours & gifts.  You will be given a sample of Sophie's delicious chocolates to take home with you at the end of your experience day.
Floral Creations; located in Amersham. They offer bespoke, elegant flower bouquets, button holes & table arrangements for weddings, and other occasions. Their little shop on the high street smells incredible & the range of flowers is fresh & colourful.
Zoe Heathers make up artist;   working in the Buckinghamshire area. Zoe is a lovely freelance make up artist who creates bepoke bridal looks & offers beauty packages to suit any bride. Wedding Editorials

Bride The Wedding Site;    Wedding Rings....where to start?;
I was fortunate to be asked to write an article about how to choose your prefect wedding ring. I adpated the content from three of my frequently asked questions & wrote an item about wedding ring styles, metal types & hallmarking. It always helps to be more informed in order to make the best choice for you so I hope it helps some couples narrow down their options.
Bride The Wedding Site;   22 Statement jewellery pieces for your wedding day;
Featuring an 18ct White Gold sapphire & diamond pendant I made. See more of this pendant in the GALLERY.
Your Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wedding Magazine; Feb/Mar 2017 edition:
I was very priviledged to be chosen to feature in this editions "Brides' Bulletin" section.
Your Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wedding Magazine; April/May 2017 edition:
A bumper issue this time & I was fortunate to have a whole page within the article 'Shining Glory; lowdown on wedding jewellery & accessories', as well as a £200 give away competition for one couple to use towards their 'make your own wedding rings'
experience day.
Bride; Berkshire, Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire Magazine; 2017/18 edition:
Two of my bespoke jewellery pieces were featured in 'The finishing touch; gorgeous wedding jewellery to add sparkle to your day'.
